Perception
from OilHack

“Perception” is a work that combines artistic sensitivity and new technologies, a work that is essentially based on observation. Using video as a medium, Oilhack captures compositions in macro and offers the eye the encounter of fluids and materials, an almost tangible immersion in the realm of the infinitely small.

 

 

Oilhack (FR) – Organic visual Artist

Anthony Viscogliosi ‘Oilhack’ is a self-taught artist inspired by nature from his childhood. He’s a real alchemist of colors. His creations are characterized by a clever mix of textures and inks, fluids, liquids and paints filmed in macro. Colors come to life and explode with energy.

Jason Fletcher (US) – Science Visualizer

Jason Fletcher is a Science Visualizer at the Charles Hayden Planetarium in Boston. He balances a delicate mix of science and artistry to tell immersive stories of science. He often experiments with VFX techniques to create realistic astronomy visuals. Jason’s long-indulged passion for shooting with an actual handheld camera has translated into his use of 360 video for recent projects.

Nascence
from Julius Horsthuis 

In “Nascence”, Julius Horsthuis explores how nature is able to give rise to complexity from such simple beginnings. He compares the relatively simple fractal formulas to DNA – the ancient replicator that has spawned all organic beauty in the world.

 

Julius Horsthuis (NL) – Digital Artist

After a 15-year career in the Dutch film and entertainment industry, first on-set and later as a Visual Effects artist and supervisor, Julius Horsthuis started experimenting with fractal animation techniques, creating a unique blend between abstract and cinematic animation. His work quickly gained worldwide recognition, he created music videos for Max Cooper, Meshuggah, Eric Serra and background visuals for Avicii, Lady Gaga and others.
